Yum Cha

Yesterday, two Swans headed to Camden.  We hadn’t seen each other for AGES and felt that delicious dim sum would be the perfect accompaniment to nearly 3 weeks worth of gossip.  Oh, this is not just delicious dim sum though, this is delicious half price dim sum.

Yum Cha’s dim sum list is very extensive so there’s no way you can make your way through it all in one sitting (anyone who has done, kudos to you) but to help you along the way, here are our faves:

Crystal Scallop & Prawn Dumplings (Jennie’s favourite)

Peanut, Mushroom & Chicken Dumplings

Honey Roast Pork Buns (little pork filled clouds of awesomeness)

Minced Pork Shanghai Siew Long Bao

Steamed Chinese Greens in Oyster Sauce

Spare Ribs in Mandarin Sauce (ribs from God I reckon… these were amazing)

Salt and Pepper Squid

Here are some close ups, just to get you drooling:

Spare Ribs… sticky & messy but totally worth the face full of sauce

Salt & Pepper Squid (with sweet chilli sauce)

An assortment of dumplings…

How neat are they! I wonder how they make them so neat?

And for pudding, Sweet Custard Buns

They look like eggs, we know.  But it’s like heaven in your mouth.  Sweet, delicious, bun-i-ness.

If you’ve had one too many glasses of wine, you will probably be inclined to make them into faces…  It’s funny and you know it.

We didn’t book but still managed to get a table for two.  Dim sum is perfect for sharing & if you’re in a bigger party then it’s best to book ahead.  Here’s the website: http://www.yumchasilksandspice.co.uk/

Half price Dim Sum is from Monday – Wednesday, 5.30pm – 10.30pm

Would we go again?

Yes. Lots.
